How to compress images

  1. Add photos

    JPG, PNG, WEBP or iPhone HEIC. Many at once.

  2. Set compression

    “Medium” works for most cases. Still too big? Resize to 1920 or 1280 px.

  3. Download

    Each file shows how much smaller it became.

How to hit the size you need

  • Lower the quality. “Medium” makes a photo 3 to 5 times smaller.
  • Reduce the resolution. Phones shoot 4000 px and more, while 1920 px is enough for screens.

EXIF data such as GPS location is removed. To only change the format, use HEIC to JPG.

How do I get a photo under 1 MB?

Choose “Medium” and 1920 px. A typical phone photo ends up at 300 to 700 KB.

Why did the file not shrink?

It was already compressed, so we kept the original. Try reducing the size in pixels.

What happens to PNG?

With “Keep format” PNG is saved as JPG and transparency turns white. Choose WEBP to keep it.
